Ateliente
Story: The world was shocked by what had happened in the recent month. With the elevation of an entire set of mountains in the middle of Antarctica, the fight that occurred in the center of New York City, which was only to be followed by the complete destruction and dissolution of Argentinia in mere weeks. The world was terrified of the "kaiju menace", and the worlds governments scrambled to find a way to stop their further creation and discovery. Suffice to say, the US government was not too happy when a massive shooting star crashed into the desert of Nevada, worryingly close to the top secret area 51. The government tried as fast as possible to recover the "star", both to retrieve it and to keep it and area 51 from being discovered by the world at large. Unfortunately, a Grifter and conman named Lucas "gambling" Webb. Webb made his living fleecing the dumber tourists with rigged games of blackjack and scavenging the wreckage of vehicles. He spent his life constantly in fear of both the law and the mob. Webb was returning from a successful day at "work" to his secret hovel in the desert when he saw a bright flash of light. After a brief shock, he eventually decided that he should probably follow it, as whatever had crashed could yield valuable cash, something that, if not always needed, was certainly something he wanted. What he found was certainly not a crashed car, or even a down plane or army jet. What he found was a massive, almost liquid asteroid. It shifted and pulsated, giving off a soft silver light. At the center was a metal plate engraved with, strangely, a human's hand. Webb felt compelled to touch his hand to it, and as he tried to pull away his head began to buzz, and in the end he complied with it. Their was another flash of light, and sitting before Webb was not the shifting meteor, but a massive, seemingly deactivated humanoid robot. Now Webb may not have been smart, or charming, or brave, but he certainly had common sense, so he ran. He jumped into his pickup truck, and drove full speed. As he made his way back to his house he saw something whizz by, and as he tried to push the gas pedal to make his truck go even faster, he realized that his engine was smoking, and his fuel was nearly out. He would have to get home on foot. He grumbled to himself, wishing he could have just gotten back home and not followed the light. It was then that he found himself grabbed by a massive robotic figure, and found himself staring eye to eye with the massive robot from before. He blacked out. When he awoke, he was back home, and sitting outside the building was the giant robot. Webb realized what going on then. He had a massive robot, the size of a kaiju, and it was under his control. He could destroy cities with this thing, hold whole populations under hostage. But Webb's delusions of grandeur and destruction were ended when he realized what had happened recently. If he did that, he would bring kaiju to him. He had seen what had happened to the other, more aggressive kaiju, the ones that destroyed cities. They were found, ad defeated, not by the government, but by other kaiju, like that fly, or the massive penguin. For the aggressive kaiju, that didn't end well. They were chased away from humanity, or worse, killed and carted off by the governments that found them. No, he would have to stop them before he truly got what he wanted. He would take care of them, and then he would be a hero. Governments would love him, and then they would tremble before his feet. Yes, that's what he would do. He set out to take care of the kaiju, one at a time. So he willed the robot, scrunched up his faced and gave it his latest commands. Destroy. All. Kaiju. And in the blink of an eye, the robot disappeared, leaving Webb giggling madly at the desert sky and the FBI agents watching as something massive flew into the night sky. The first kaiju the robot encountered was a large, porpoise-like beast named Borpulon. Nobody knew where it came from, and most simply assumed that it had been awoken by the recent chaos. Borpulon minded its own business, and was swimming through the waters of the gulf of Mexico when it felt something tearing at its neck. A few seconds later, it and its severed head lay in the water, and the robot flew to its next stop. The second was a massive howler monkey, Ateliente, one of the first members of Basilimaul's horde. After the bombing of Basilimaul, it was slowly but surely turned into a kaiju, if a rather small one. It patrolled a small strip of rainforest in Brazil, and fiercely guarded it, warding off or destroying all who came near with its fiery breath.  To it, the robot was nothing new, just another challenger to the throne that was rightfully its. It was a surprise, however, that the robot was a worthy challenger, as powerful as it, even more so perhaps. This feeling was cemented when it received a swift punch to the jaw. This was followed up by another, then another, forcing Ateliente to consider retreat, but not before getting a couple of slashes in. It scratched at the arms of the robot, leaving deep slashes in mechanical chassis. It followed that with a fiery blast, burning layer after layer of metal. This is what set off the robot, and it pummeled the body of Ateliente, smashing it to a bloody pulp.  It gingerly held the burning hole in its body, as if trying to stop something from spilling out. It then left, still cradling it stomach and arm. As Ateliente slowly began to reform itself days later, a creature approached it, and Ateliente waited for the final blow. But the figure was none other than Chilly Cthilly, who looked out at the jungle, on the trail of a new threat to the world…
*****
Name: Ateliente, meaning of name unknown.
Current Whereabouts: The burning rainforest, a patch of rainforest and grassland in Brazil of young, fast-growing trees. Visitors are greeted by charred corpses and the metal skeletons of fighter jets.
Biology: Although a former member of Basilimaul's horde, It seems kaijufication has spared Ateliente from the creature's influence. Ateliente itself is mainly different from other kaiju due to the strange mix of fur and strange "scales" formed from radiation-warped skin. Ateliente can breath fire like its former controller, but its lack of fire protection means that the creature melts from the raw hat of it. To add to that fact, Ateliente's fire is almost 90 times hotter than that of Basilimaul's, turning the kaiju into porridge if it is used for too long. The only things that have kept Ateliente alive are its pain resistance, abnormally high healing factor, and sheer tenacity. To supplement its breath, Ateliente has sharp claws, which dig into its victims skiing like switchblades.
Powers: Fire beam, sharp claws, abnormally high healing factor.
Personality: Ateliente has both the energy of a toddler and the grit of an old gunslinger. It's fighting style is furious, as it has no time to give up. It must incapacitate an opponent before it can react, and then kill it or force it to retreat. Ateliente has a great amount of pride in its fighting ability, despite of several crushing defeats and still continues to destroy any that enter its domain. In fact, where it lives seems to give Ateliente more purpose than anything else in its life, and any who attempt to take that away from it will find themselves with an unusually persistent enemy.
---------------------
Sorry if this got a little long. This took me awhile, and I sorta just wrote down the whole story strait from my head. Ateliente wasn't originally planned for this story, but I idly drew a monkey kaiju, ad thought it would be cool to implement in my story. And yes, there will be more on Borpulon later. Please tell me what you think in the comments, I really worked hard on this.

Story: The massive Basilimaul, the largest kaiju to have ever been known. It rampaged through town after town, all the while followed by a hooting, growling entourage. The fights were less like a natural disaster, as the previous kaiju attacks had been, and more a war, with Basilimaul behaving like a brutal siege weapon. The Argentinian government had its hands tied as it began to get closer to nearby cities. Tanks, planes, even airstrikes, none worked against the creature, although they did slowly thin the numbers of the infected horde, which had steadily grown due to infected humans fleeing the city becoming members. But in the end, Basilimaul began to wander once again towards a relatively small village, and the goverment knew what it had to do. The bomb dropped on Basilimaul that day, and the results were catastrophic. Basilimaul was unharmed, saved for its hide being burned and twisted by the heat. It actually grew to even larger size, a ability now known to be possessed by all kaiju, but something completely new at the time. However, almost the entirety of the horde was gone, and the few stragglers left behind were larger, but had been severely damaged by the blast, for they lacked the healing factor of their parent. No one in the town survived. Basilimaul, although no more then superficially harmed, showed some emotion, something rare from the kaiju. It cradled the corpses of the dead creatures in its hands, and roared, seemingly in sadness. It quickly moved on though, and set off to another city. However, there was a new creature following in its wake. It was a massive botfly larva, of the variety that dwelled within human skin. It was mutated into a kaiju by the blast, and followed Basilimaul on its travels, constantly behind it yet beneath its notice, like a massive insectoid chihuahua. As Basilimaul rampaged through cities and destroyed them over and over, the maggot did not join in the battles. For she was both frail and kind, and she eventually grew tired of the violent behavior of its fellow traveler. It was around this time that Basilimaul began to wander towards Argentinia's coast, and there the fish seemed to be scared away, and fisherman reported seeing bubbles in the water nearby. The Argentinian government at the time was slowly dissolving, so it was hardly important to them what the bubbles really were. But for the other countries that were giving aid to the survivors were nervous. After all, bubbles like those had been found before the battle in New York City. As like that, Chilly Cthilly followed Basilimaul from the coast, although unlike his quarry he avoided civilization, although it offered him no stealth, and refugee camps would occasionally see him, towering over the jungle, like a ancient warrior from a time long gone. As he followed in the trail of Basilimaul, he came to a massive depression in the ground where the massive kaiju had slept. It was there that Chilly Cthilly was ambushed, when Belzebuzz kept from her burrow and attempted to tackle him. The battle was short, with Chilly quickly righting himself and flipping the maggot on its back, giving him enough time to escape while the kaiju got up. But, as he came to the city it was too late. It had been destroyed, more awfully than any before it, save the one on which the nuclear bomb was dropped. In the center of it lay the massive, pulsing Basilimaul, whose foul fumes had choked he air, making it hard to breathe. The giant snored in its slumber, like a bear after a good meal. Chilly Cthilly set to work as soon as possible, begin to fire its eyeball beam, when, Belzebuzz entered the ruins. However this time the two kaiju did not fight, instead Beelzebuzz began to speak in a garbled whiny language, unknown to all, at Chillyn Cthilly. Even more strange, Chilly responded, and it like threat display and more like a strange debate, each trying to convince the other of something they they couldn't see. The debate was disrupted when the massive claw of Basilimaul grabbed Chilly. It slowly raised its head as it grabbed it, looking at the other kaiju hungrily, for the massive beast had not eaten in days, and lo! Finally a meal fit for its size. The few surviving members of the kaiju's horde rose to attention like the walking dead. Belzebuzz was frantic, but in the end she began to crawl up the body of Basilimaul and sunk her teeth in, slowly injecting acid from her teeth. Basilimaul screamed, grabbed Belzebuzz, and stomped her flat. This, ironically, saved both kaiju. For as it stomped it a second creature emerged from it. For the second body had been a chrysalis, and out of it emerged a great fly who wriggled from underneath Basilimaul's grip an fired two teeth into its flesh, where poison leeched out slowly into the surrounding flesh. Basilimaul put up a good fight, but it failed in combat against the two smaller, but faster kaiju working in tandem against it. It eventually began to back down, although it repayed every attack it received in blood. But in the end, when it had no punishment left to give, it left. Cries could be heard in the jungles long after. In the end Belzebuzz followed, leaving Chilly Cthilly alone once again...

Description:
Name: Belzebuzz, derived from the demon belzebub.
Current Whereabouts: Argentina. No current set abode.
Biology: A radioactive botfly maggot, Belzebuzz is a strange kaiju. Her teeth aren't filled with a pale violet poison, which can cause death in humans and dizziness and fainting in kaiju. Her bite alone is still quite painful, and she bites with a force that could crush a car. Once in her adult form, the teeth can be launched as projectiles, which regrow in seconds, making them usable more than once. She also has several hands she can use to grab onto building space and other kaiju, and Shen also had a long stinger filled with a orange poison that causes cells within the body to spontaneously combust. This poison Ian made from large quantities of charbohyderates and starches, and to refill she must've feed often. Her wings are small for her body, and they can Ben only used to fly from already high ground, and even then they can only sustain frantically flapping flight. This leaves Belzebuzz better off climbing than flying everywhere.
Powers: Venomous teeth, stinger, flight.
Personality: Belzebuzz is on every of the more friendly kaiju known. She's often travels from place to meet other kaiju, morning for the purposes of combat, but rather for the fun ignoring interacting within her own kind. She is not usually inclined to join in combat, but will comeback to her allies aid when it is needed, and will often care for the bodies of kaiju while they regenerate flesh after battles. She seems in a deeply flawed friendship with the kaiju Basilimaul, and, despite major differences in both personality and violent nature, they will still comeback to the other' side aid unless absolutely necessary to leave them. They have still had numerous fights, yet they remain close.

And enter the mothta expy! In all seriousness, I thought it would bet a fun subversion of the trope of the benevolent insect to have the second benevolent monster in the story after the protagonist be a massive fly, a typically antagonistic creature. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Modern monsters
Just some doodles of monsters for the modern world.
1: a mascot ghost. Whenever a company revises their mascot, the ghost of the previous design will appear. Over time they will gradually become more monstrous, and become more bitter at the creators that abandoned them.
2: a small creature that hangs on to walls and makes a noise like a dripping pipe. Some other species instead make other noises, such as bird calls and construction sounds.
3: a slobberhemoth. It lives under the floor boards and only crawls out during the day when the occupants are away and eats food out of the pantries and sleeps in beds, unmaking them.
4: doodlehopper. Whenever someone thinks nostalgically about the fifties one appears. An increasingly rare creature.
5: a frightening bird that eats lint.
6: a creature that drains the tiredness of a human for sustenance. To gain more food, when human goes to sleep it will use its telepathy to the fill the victim's brain with nightmares, forcing them awake again. Can also impersonate an umbrella.
7: the blue gazoob. Eats hipsters.

Story: In northern Argentina, a large patch of rainforest was infected by an unknown plague. It struck the entire area of rainforest without warning, turning the trees a charcoal black and sucking the nutrients out of the soil. The plague left hundreds of trees dead and twisted. One of the strangest things about the plague was what happened to the trees that contracted it. Their leaves became grey and sharp, like pieces of slate, and the trunks split into thousands of tiny fibers, like grated cheese, and every tree had a large depression in its middle. Even worse for the government, some of the animals contracted the plague, with devastating consequences. Although most animals were not infected, and were forced either to leave or die. But the monkeys in the ruins of the forest were consumed by the plague, and became vicious and dangerous. They would sit on the branches of the blackened trees, still, like statues. When other animals came by, even non infected monkeys, they would jump down and rend their preys flesh with their claws. The monkeys were also observed taking the corpses of their prey and stuffing them in the hollows of the trees. The trees would generally emit a "burp" and then the corpses would dissolve. The government was up to its ears in attempting to solve the problem, and it just got worse. Although the infected trees did not spread, the infected monkeys began hunting farther and farther away from the infected area of forest. It just got worse, however, when the earthquakes began. The ground around the infected area was steadily hit by earthquakes. It seemed that with every earthquake a few more monkeys would be found in the outlying areas, and each time they'd be a little farther out as well. Eventually the earthquakes reached a penultimate, with entire towns nearby being transformed into rubble or swallowed by fissures in the ground. Then, the ground crumbled, and the rainforest slowly bulged up, and then fell down the back of a massive shell. Out of the ground rose a massive figure, a creature never before seen but in the bestiaries of old. It was Basilimaul, and it was hungry...
•••••
Description:
Name: Basilimaul, named after the mythical basilisk.
Current Whereabouts: A large clearing in the center of the Argentinian rainforest, where Basilimaul is currently digging itself a hole, after which it is believed that it will bury itself and return to slumber.
Biology: Basilimaul is, biologically and historically, an enigma. Basilimaul has shown only superficial resemblance to any known creatures. The creature's most peculiar trait is the highly infectious plague that affects living things nearby while it is dormant. The plague is spread by pheromones emitted by the creature while it sleeps. The plague, although it has not effected humans except for in a few cases, has a 100 percent infection rate in all other primate species. Even the more primitive primates, such as lemurs are affected. The plague in animals makes them brutal, attacking prey like they are rabid. The plague also increases strength in those under it influence, making even small creatures a force to be reckoned with. as an added danger, when exposed to radiation, which normally kills or causes defects in creature, the infected instead grow larger in size, a power once thought to only capable of occurring on kaiju, because of the abnormal genetics that connect all kaiju. Because of this some prominent kaijuologists consider the infected a form of pseudokaiju. Basilimaul's long spine-studded tail can be swung with great force by its owner, and the spines on it can get embedded in its opponents. Basilimaul also has two sacks at the back of its throat that can emit a gas that is then ignited by its teeth, thus shooting out a jet of fire. However, Basilimaul's throat, while durable, is not fire-proof, and the creature may only breathe fire in short bursts, lest it  cause more damage to its throat than it advanced healing can correct.
Powers: Corrupting influence, fire breath, uranium claws.
Personality: if there is one word that describes Basilimaul, it is dazed. The creature is brutal in excess, and it has been known to beat the rubble of buildings it has already destroyed into gravel. This seems to stem not from its sadism, but rather an almost childlike glee in taking apart or destroying things for its own entertainment. It's seems to not even comprehend what exactly it is doing, and has been known to walk around half asleep, destroying at random. This obliviousness manifests most in its control of its infected minions, who could be a deadly contagious force if not for the creature's lack of exact coordination.
--------------------------------------------------
Well, here is basilimaul! Design wise, it is based on several different depictions of basilisks I have seen. This segment of the story is in two parts, and will be finished in the next kaiju' bio. It was designed to be as much of a force of nature as it is a kaiju. The multiple eyes were meant to help tie to the motif of a basilisk, but in other ways he fills the role of fills the role of the massive dragon, like king ghidorah does in godzilla, minus some of the main antagonist elements.

Edit: added extra details and picture of breathing fire.

Story: As Chilly Cthilly raced towards New York City, the city was deep in its own problem. After massive amounts of flooding after several hurricanes, the storm drains of the city had been filled with sea water. Several different sea creatures had washed into the drains, although most of them were small, one of the creatures swept by the hurricane was a sunflower starfish, the largest starfish in the world, who was swept from Alaska all the way to the sewers of New York, where sat, dying from both its wounds and lack of food. But as it crawled deeper into the sewage in a futile attempt to find food, it was mutated by the medical waste it found. Steadily growing digger on rats, large numbers of cockroaches and the occasional raccoon. But after long enough, the creature finally crawled to the surface, incapable of surviving in the sewers any longer. It's mutations allowed it to survive outside of water, having been slowly weaned off of water by the sewers fluctuating amounts of water. The creature attacked passerby on the street, maiming several people, with the police not responding to calls due to the sheer absurdity of the situation. Although eventually the police arrived on the scene, it was already too late. The starfish had cornered a person and eaten them, and had ballooned in size after its last meal. But the city Hagar to shake, and Chilly Cthilly arrived in New York. The massive starfish, although very small compared to the penguin, scuttled towards him in bloodthirsty aggression. Chilly Cthilly tried to stomp on the creature, but it went too fast for him to crush. The creature latched on to Chilly and extruded its stomach, rasping away at the penguin's flesh. As it ate, it grew a massive eye. Chilly futilely tried to pry the creature off, but it continued to feast on him, the penguin's flesh slowly regenerating, leaving the starfish with an endless buffet. The starfish, which by now had grown to almost the size of Chilly Cthilly, spotted the lump on its stomach and, thinking it an easy meal, crawled towards it. It latched on to the lump and was about to extrude its stomach when the lump opened. It was a massive, three-lobed eye. Their was a shriek, and a massive beam of energy blasted out of the eye and shot the massive starfish across the city. Their the fight began in earnest. It was a short fight after that. All the starfish tried failed against the waddling champion. Finally the starfish, beaten and missing a limb, the starfish collapsed in the center of the rubble and waited for the end to come. But the end didn't. Before anyone could even begin to comprehend what had just happened, Chilly Cthilly was gone, and left New York in shambles with it. The authorities apprehended the massive creature, and killed it before it could do any more damage. But the starfish's lost limb was swept into the now flooded Hudson, and eventually deposited out at sea. There, the limb eventually regrouped into a clone of its parent, and although it lost the ability to grow in size using the mass of its prey, it gained several powers from its new eye that its parent had never been able to try out. The new Echinotitan was also far less aggressive than the first, and it spent a good deal of the rest of its life in the kelp forests of British Columbia. Chilly Cthilly's story was far from over though, and deep in the rainforests of south America a new threat began to stir...
•••••
Description:
Name: Echinotitan, was named by sensationalized news report on the attack.
Current Whereabouts: "Dead man's reef", a large kelp forest in the ocean outside of British Columbia. It is renowned for the amount of shipwrecks that have taken place in or nearby it.
Biology: Although once a sunflower starfish, Echinotitan has been so mutated that it more or less constitutes a species of its own. It's mouth is on its front rather than its underside, and it only has four tentacles left. However, it still feeds, much like other starfish, by extruding its stomach. It's stomach is covered in a potent acid, which will turn any flesh, be it fish or penguin, into a readily absorbable paste. The second Echinotitan's eye can emit a bright, dazing light, which it uses to paralyze fish so that it may then catch them in its stomach, which it waves around itself like a net. This light can also be used to blind opposing kaiju, though only temporarily. Although capable of surviving on land for days, Echinotitan must eventually return to wate to moisten its primitive lungs.
Powers: Echinotitan 1: extendable stomach, grappling tentacles, could use flesh from prey to grow larger within seconds.
Echinotitan 2: extendable stomach, "spotlight ray" mesmerizing light beam, grappling tentacles.
Personality: Echinotitan 1: highly agressive, it spent most of its time searching for food. When smaller it mostly used ambush tactics, though once kaiju-sized it became a pursuit predator. The creature was a kaiju for such a small time that there was not much time to study its behavior.
Echinotitan 2: almost the polar opposite of its predecessor, the second Echinotitan is a very placid creature. It has been shown to be cowardly in nature, and it has taken pains to even avoid all but the smallest of fishing boats. However when forced to fight it is a brutal opponent, but at the same time fights not to kill the opponent, but rather to simply end the fight. Unlike many other kaiju that seem lonely in a world where they have no other of their kind to be with, the Echinotitan has proven perfectly fine to be left in solitude.
--------------------------------------------------
Well, here is Chilly's first foe. It was inspired by a miniature documentary I watched on sea stars, more specifically the sunflower starfish, which is an incredible creature. In terms of design and theme story wise, it's really an attempt to take the stock "big sea creature" trope and apply it to a horror story. Also, in case you weren't sure, this story is going to be mostly science fiction, but have a lot of strong horror elements. The next two creatures will introduce a tag-team fight against Chilly, and the one after that will be another spin on a classic variety of kaiju.
