Story: The world was shocked by what had happened in the recent month. With the elevation of an entire set of mountains in the middle of Antarctica, the fight that occurred in the center of New York City, which was only to be followed by the complete destruction and dissolution of Argentinia in mere weeks. The world was terrified of the "kaiju menace", and the worlds governments scrambled to find a way to stop their further creation and discovery. Suffice to say, the US government was not too happy when a massive shooting star crashed into the desert of Nevada, worryingly close to the top secret area 51. The government tried as fast as possible to recover the "star", both to retrieve it and to keep it and area 51 from being discovered by the world at large. Unfortunately, a Grifter and conman named Lucas "gambling" Webb. Webb made his living fleecing the dumber tourists with rigged games of blackjack and scavenging the wreckage of vehicles. He spent his life constantly in fear of both the law and the mob. Webb was returning from a successful day at "work" to his secret hovel in the desert when he saw a bright flash of light. After a brief shock, he eventually decided that he should probably follow it, as whatever had crashed could yield valuable cash, something that, if not always needed, was certainly something he wanted. What he found was certainly not a crashed car, or even a down plane or army jet. What he found was a massive, almost liquid asteroid. It shifted and pulsated, giving off a soft silver light. At the center was a metal plate engraved with, strangely, a human's hand. Webb felt compelled to touch his hand to it, and as he tried to pull away his head began to buzz, and in the end he complied with it. Their was another flash of light, and sitting before Webb was not the shifting meteor, but a massive, seemingly deactivated humanoid robot. Now Webb may not have been smart, or charming, or brave, but he certainly had common sense, so he ran. He jumped into his pickup truck, and drove full speed. As he made his way back to his house he saw something whizz by, and as he tried to push the gas pedal to make his truck go even faster, he realized that his engine was smoking, and his fuel was nearly out. He would have to get home on foot. He grumbled to himself, wishing he could have just gotten back home and not followed the light. It was then that he found himself grabbed by a massive robotic figure, and found himself staring eye to eye with the massive robot from before. He blacked out. When he awoke, he was back home, and sitting outside the building was the giant robot. Webb realized what going on then. He had a massive robot, the size of a kaiju, and it was under his control. He could destroy cities with this thing, hold whole populations under hostage. But Webb's delusions of grandeur and destruction were ended when he realized what had happened recently. If he did that, he would bring kaiju to him. He had seen what had happened to the other, more aggressive kaiju, the ones that destroyed cities. They were found, ad defeated, not by the government, but by other kaiju, like that fly, or the massive penguin. For the aggressive kaiju, that didn't end well. They were chased away from humanity, or worse, killed and carted off by the governments that found them. No, he would have to stop them before he truly got what he wanted. He would take care of them, and then he would be a hero. Governments would love him, and then they would tremble before his feet. Yes, that's what he would do. He set out to take care of the kaiju, one at a time. So he willed the robot, scrunched up his faced and gave it his latest commands. Destroy. All. Kaiju. And in the blink of an eye, the robot disappeared, leaving Webb giggling madly at the desert sky and the FBI agents watching as something massive flew into the night sky. The first kaiju the robot encountered was a large, porpoise-like beast named Borpulon. Nobody knew where it came from, and most simply assumed that it had been awoken by the recent chaos. Borpulon minded its own business, and was swimming through the waters of the gulf of Mexico when it felt something tearing at its neck. A few seconds later, it and its severed head lay in the water, and the robot flew to its next stop. The second was a massive howler monkey, Ateliente, one of the first members of Basilimaul's horde. After the bombing of Basilimaul, it was slowly but surely turned into a kaiju, if a rather small one. It patrolled a small strip of rainforest in Brazil, and fiercely guarded it, warding off or destroying all who came near with its fiery breath. To it, the robot was nothing new, just another challenger to the throne that was rightfully its. It was a surprise, however, that the robot was a worthy challenger, as powerful as it, even more so perhaps. This feeling was cemented when it received a swift punch to the jaw. This was followed up by another, then another, forcing Ateliente to consider retreat, but not before getting a couple of slashes in. It scratched at the arms of the robot, leaving deep slashes in mechanical chassis. It followed that with a fiery blast, burning layer after layer of metal. This is what set off the robot, and it pummeled the body of Ateliente, smashing it to a bloody pulp. It gingerly held the burning hole in its body, as if trying to stop something from spilling out. It then left, still cradling it stomach and arm. As Ateliente slowly began to reform itself days later, a creature approached it, and Ateliente waited for the final blow. But the figure was none other than Chilly Cthilly, who looked out at the jungle, on the trail of a new threat to the world…
Name: Ateliente, meaning of name unknown.
Current Whereabouts: The burning rainforest, a patch of rainforest and grassland in Brazil of young, fast-growing trees. Visitors are greeted by charred corpses and the metal skeletons of fighter jets.
Biology: Although a former member of Basilimaul's horde, It seems kaijufication has spared Ateliente from the creature's influence. Ateliente itself is mainly different from other kaiju due to the strange mix of fur and strange "scales" formed from radiation-warped skin. Ateliente can breath fire like its former controller, but its lack of fire protection means that the creature melts from the raw hat of it. To add to that fact, Ateliente's fire is almost 90 times hotter than that of Basilimaul's, turning the kaiju into porridge if it is used for too long. The only things that have kept Ateliente alive are its pain resistance, abnormally high healing factor, and sheer tenacity. To supplement its breath, Ateliente has sharp claws, which dig into its victims skiing like switchblades.
Powers: Fire beam, sharp claws, abnormally high healing factor.
Personality: Ateliente has both the energy of a toddler and the grit of an old gunslinger. It's fighting style is furious, as it has no time to give up. It must incapacitate an opponent before it can react, and then kill it or force it to retreat. Ateliente has a great amount of pride in its fighting ability, despite of several crushing defeats and still continues to destroy any that enter its domain. In fact, where it lives seems to give Ateliente more purpose than anything else in its life, and any who attempt to take that away from it will find themselves with an unusually persistent enemy.
Sorry if this got a little long. This took me awhile, and I sorta just wrote down the whole story strait from my head. Ateliente wasn't originally planned for this story, but I idly drew a monkey kaiju, ad thought it would be cool to implement in my story. And yes, there will be more on Borpulon later. Please tell me what you think in the comments, I really worked hard on this.
